I'm Still Learning Inc. is a Melbourne-based not-for-profit set up to provide everyday people an opportunity to learn how to confidently tackle their own basic home and car maintenance tasks.
We strive to deliver practical, hands-on courses that empower independence, build confidence and foster a sense of community.
I’m Still Learning was founded in 2017 by Mandy Gosetti after facing the loss of her husband to cancer.
It was only after his passing that Mandy realised both how much her husband had cared for their home, and how little she knew about maintaining it herself. Every time a tap dripped, Mandy found herself feeling like she'd lost her husband all over again.
Over time, Mandy learned how to manage her own home maintenance. This helped make her husband's absence a little less painful and built her confidence and self-reliance. Knowing there would be others facing similar struggles, Mandy was inspired to start I'm Still Leaning.
Mandy's goal was to empower and connect people through I'm Still Learning's programs. Now, our workshops provide avenues to develop essential life skills and foster independence, while our alumni community offers opportunities to form lasting, supportive friendships with like-minded learners.
At the heart of I'm Still Learning is a dedicated group of volunteers who manage our not-for-profit organisation and deliver our workshops throughout the greater Melbourne community. From our board members to our workshop leaders, each volunteer shares Mandy's passion for education and empowerment. They are skilled professionals with extensive experience in their fields, committed to helping I'm Still Learning expand its reach and empower more people with the skills they need for greater independence.
I'm Still Learning offers a variety of hands-on workshops throughout Melbourne, tailored for beginners to learn essential DIY skills at affordable prices. With all tools and equipment provided, participants gain confidence and practical skills that are applicable to all areas of life. Beyond the workshops, we foster a continuing sense of community through unique alumni events, encouraging connections, friendships, and ongoing learning among past participants.
Today, I'm Still Learning offers courses throughout Melbourne that aim to empower people with the knowledge and confidence needed to look after their own home and car maintenance.
With a course satisfaction rate consistently above 90%, we're immensely proud of the profound impact we've made so far—and we're excited to continue making a difference for years to come.
At I'm Still Learning, we are fortunate to be supported by a group of dedicated professionals who generously volunteer their time, expertise, and energy.

Treasurer
Founder, Board Member and Passionate Advocate
I am the Founder, very passionate advocate and the Board Secretary of I’m Still Learning. The idea for I’m Still Learning started for me in 2014 when my husband died and it became a need.
There is a lot of determination, self-sacrifice and diligence in making sure that our goals and objectives are met through our courses. I successfully completed high school and then went straight into the work force doing small courses along the way.
My work role has mainly been in a Human Resources / People environment but the expertise that I bring to the table is the primary reason for starting I’m Still Learning.
It’s my past experiences, it’s being an average everyday run of the mill person who knew what I needed to know after my loss. It’s being a person who generally relates well with people.
Board Secretary
‘Impact that matters’ is what inspired me to join I’m Still Learning, a social enterprise focused on providing courses to adults from diverse backgrounds. As a Board member since February 2023 and Local Area Coordinator since October 2022, I have excellent opportunities to help program attendees learn and flourish and the organisation to grow and succeed.
I enjoy devoting my efforts towards supporting I’m Still Learning as it helps Individuals benefit from gaining new knowledge and skills in the areas of basic home maintenance, basic car maintenance and basic cooking in addition to improving social wellbeing through connecting with others. An added value to program participants is being part of the I’m Still Learning alumni which further extends knowledge and social connectedness.
I have extensive experience in areas including adult education, strategy development, project management, business development , stakeholder and relationship management. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Business, Graduate Diploma in Leadership, Graduate Certificate in VET and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
